Four Cherokee teams in Youth Championship

          Cherokee Youth Travel League Basketball has four teams competing for the WNC Youth Basketball Championship on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Clyde.    

          The four teams are the Peewee Girls, coached by Ben Stamper and  Jessica Lambert, Peewee Boys, coached by Duck and Ernie Lossiah, Termite Girls, coached by Tommy Teesateskie and Principal Chief Michell Hicks, and the Termite Boys, coached by Jack Gloyne and Sheila Brown. 

          The game times are 9am Peewee Girls, 10am Peewee Boys, 11am Termite Girls, and 12pm Termite Boys. 

          Tim Smith, Cherokee Youth Travel League Basketball coordinator, said, “On behalf of all of our youth participating, we would like to invite everyone to come out and watch a great day of Championship Basketball.”
