Virginia Griffin, age 82, of Sylva, NC, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva, NC. following a period of declining health. Mrs. Griffin was a native of Macon County and a life long resident of Jackson County
She was the daughter of the late Robert Jacobs and the late Maggie Jacobs and the wife of the late Walter Griffin who died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Roger Jacobs and Robert L. Jacobs.
Surviving are her Niece Frances Lowe of Webster, NC; Great Nephews Roger Mark Gates of Cullowhee, NC and Robert Chad Gates of Sylva, NC; Sister in Laws Pearl Jacobs of Sylva, NC and Helen Jacobs of Clayton, GA.
Funeral service was at Moody Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 11, 2010. Interment was in the PE Moody Memorial Gardens, Sylva, NC, the family received friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
