Caledonia Owl
Caledonia Owl, age 91, of Franklin, N.C., died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Franklin, N.C.
Miss Owl was a native of Cherokee, NC and resident of Franklin for the past 30 years, She was the daughter of the late David Owl and Elizabeth Smith Hyde and a foster daughter of the late Thad T. and Gradie B. Varner. She was preceded in death by her brother Llyod Owl. She was a member of the Whittier Methodist Church
Miss Owl is survived by 3 half sisters; Darleen Caudill and Sylvia Deck of Florida, Polly Deck of Tennessee; one foster sister Wilda V. Bryson of Franklin; one half brother Franklin D. Owl of Cherokee and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Moody Funeral Home, 714 West Main Street, Sylva, N.C., where the family received friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2009. Graveside services were at Thomas Memorial Cemetery at 2:30 PM Monday, December 28, 2009 . Interment was in the Thomas Memorial Cemetery in Whittier, N.C.
